Cross the Bridge to Culture...The Minden Hills Cultural Centre
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is a community gathering place where arts, heritage, literacy and environment are celebrated and shared through education, exhibitions, programs, performances, collections, research and preservation.
Discover the power of art and the work of André Lapine at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery. Experience a rugged pioneer past at the Minden Hills Museum. Adventure awaits you at the new R.D. Lawrence Place where you can hunt for tracks, turn the pages of a Canadian literary icon's life and learn about sustainable building. Delve into a great book at the Minden Public Library. Experience home-grown, historical outdoor theatre brought to you by the Conjurors of County Town.
For educational purposes, the Cultural Centre preserves the memory of historical figures of significant cultural relevance to the Haliburton Highlands and Canada. The Cultural Centre as an inclusive tourist destination is a local jewel attracting thousands of visitors and school children annually. We invite you to take advantage of the beautiful grounds' easy access to walking trails and an on-site Peace Labyrinth. Thanks to the Township of Minden Hills, our members, and our many dedicated volunteers, we have this unique centre. We also gratefully acknowledge the support of the the Minden Hills Cultural Centre Foundation, the Advisory Committee and the many community groups and funders who support and make use of the Centre. Our logo designed by Gallery Curator Laurie Carmount in 2007 read more...
