Welcome to the Minden Hills Cultural Centre |
Arts, Heritage, & Nature
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is a 4 acre area downtown Minden that houses the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, the Minden Hills Museum, R.D. Lawrence Place and the Minden Hills Branch of the Haliburton County Public Library. The Agnes Jamieson Gallery is a public art gallery offering visual art exhibitions year-round. The gallery's collection consists primarily of artwork by Andre Lapine. Minden Hills Museum & Pioneer Village reflects pioneer life in the mid to late 19th Century. It consists of seven structures, five of which are original local heritage buildings that have been relocated to the museum grounds. Feature exhibits are located in the Sterling Bank Building- Minden's first bank. R.D. Lawrence Place holds the estate of Ron Douglas Lawrence, a well-recognized Canadian naturalist and wildlife author. Lawrence's life and books are displayed through changing exhibitions. The Centre grounds also offer a labyrinth, gift shops, walking trails and tours.
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is owned and operated by the Township of Minden Hills. We gratefully acknowledge the support of our members, our many dedicated volunteers and the many community groups and funders who support and make use of the Cultural Centre.
