On July 4th 2010, The Minden Hills Cultural Centre and the Highlands Brass Academy presented the first annual Beat Beethoven Fundraising Run. Proceeds from the race will help young musicians attend Highlands Brass Academy’s summer intensive and will also help fund educational programs in art, our heritage, our natural heritage and literacy at the Cultural Centre.

The Beat Beethoven Run is a unique racing event that combines sport and the arts in a fun and exciting way:  the runners line up, the gun goes off, and Beethoven’s 5th Symphony in brass starts playing!  The goal is for the runners to make it back to the finish line before the Symphony finishes!
