Sesquicentennial Coin

Culture Club – March Break
March 15 – 19, 2010 10 am – 3 pm
Attention parents and grandparents! Minden Hills Cultural Centre has it all for kids this March Break. Join ½ day programs, full day programs or get involved for the whole week. Kids will explore art, the environment, literature and heritage with local professionals at our lovely interactive complex which includes the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Minden Hills Museum and R.D. Lawrence Place. There's something in store for the Culture Vulture in every kid!
Traditional Fibre Work Theme
May 11-July 30
Our theme for the summer is fibre works, as well as our quilts, dresses, undergarments, and fine linens on display; we also look at how fibre works affected all aspects of life, from the family home, to the church, the loggers’ cabin to the blacksmith shop.
Remembering John McCrae Exhibit
June 22 - September 13, 2010
Remembering John McCrae celebrates the life of the famed author of “In Flanders Fields”. Exploring his life as Soldier, Doctor, and Poet this exhibit creates a vivid portrait of the remarkable man behind his famous poem.
Historical Photo Studio
June 26-September 30
Create your own souvenir! Have photo taken in our pioneer settings. Choose your costume and setting – we take photo, print, ready for you before you leave the centre! $10 per photo.
Living History Animation
June 26-August 30
Visit with characters of our past, have pictures taken with them. Volunteers have taken on various local historical character roles to enhance your visit. Every Saturday afternoon all summer long.
Victorian Tea
Wednesday August 25
Scones, cucumber Sandwiches, delightful music and entertainment. An afternoon of simple enjoyments. 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Reservations are required, $7.00 per person. RSVP Minden Hills Museum: 286-3154.
Story of the Camera Exhibit
October 7-23
Reg Holloway brings a fantastic camera collection and knowledge to you. Joe Smith utilizes his camera skills at the studio set up. Have your portrait put on Christmas cards or printed off for you.
