R.D. Lawrence Place Commemorative Stamp |
Own a piece of history while you support R.D. Lawrence Place!
**NEW IN 2009 - LIMITED EDITION 1st ANNIVERSARY STAMP COVERS**
Released in 2008, these unique and beautiful stamps created through a Canada Post program are legal letter weight current value (no value printed on the stamp) postage stamps. This is the first in a series of commemorative stamps to be offered by the Cultural Centre. For information on the 2009 stamp, please see the museum pages.
Covers sell for $5 each, proceeds go towards the costs of completing R.D. Lawrence Place.
The Commemorative Stamp Covers feature:
- commissioned artwork of a wolf and a line drawing of R.D. Lawrence Place by Canadian artist Donna Bisschop.
- one stamp with a picture by Jim Wuepper of Ron Lawrence and Tundra at Wolf Hollow, Lawrence’s private wildlife sanctuary in Gooderham, Haliburton County.
- commemorates the 1st anniversary of R.D. Lawrence Place on April 22, 2009.
- two other covers feature photos of RDLP by its first coordinator Sheryl Loucks.

The Commemorative Stamp Sheet features:
- commissioned artwork of a wolf and a line drawing of R.D. Lawrence Place by Canadian artist Donna Bisschop.
- signed by photographer Jim Wuepper, who took the picture of Ron Lawrence and Tundra, a wolf he rescued and wrote about. There is an enlarged photo on the commemorative sheet. The photo was taken at Wolf Hollow, the Lawrence’s private wildlife sanctuary in Gooderham, located in Haliburton County, Ontario.
- commemorates the grand opening of R.D. Lawrence Place on April 22, 2008.
- number 001 of 100 commemorative sheets produced is on the stamp sheet.
- there are actually 21 peel and stick stamps on the sheet.
- stamps are timeless and maintain current value.
- the commemorative sheets will not be reproduced.
